Not sure I will finish this one, but I'm having fun experimenting with simpler shapes. Been into painting snowy landscapes recently for some reason (which is doubly strange being in Italy right now).

"It's an uphill battle. Dmitri's attire is nowhere near warm enough for the cold weather biting his skin, his rations are low, and now, he sees something that makes his stomach turn. He clutches his blade, his only friend left in this white-out, and musters whatever strength is left to investigate."

Maggie re-design

Trying to redesign the lead character of my personal project, Muse. I always felt she was a bit too stern looking before, whereas now I feel she has a little bit more of the child-like demeanor I meant her to have in the first place. Definitely going to draw her like this from now on. I'm pretty sure I'm going to redesign a good majority of the other characters too in the future.

To be honest it's kind of refreshing to go back to my comfort zone. This is the first time I've really started tackling their literal designs, which is rather strange considering how experimental the entire project has been so far.

Mr. Serkis

Andy Serkis study from reference. I am trying to post less of these referenced studies but this is really the first semi-successful color study I've had so I figured I'd share. Probably took about 2 hours.

Also would like to announce that my classes here in Florence are starting up soon. I can't wait. I have Fashion Illustration and Florence Sketchbook! :]

Small triptych I made for my Muse project--very small mirrors, probably only a few inches high. I actually made these over the summer but I only now found the photograph I took of them. I was inspired by my old concept sketches and some of the outline I had written down for an older version of this project.
